Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Adam Fogle has filed a TPS report to the effect that... well, here's how it starts:

SCPRT FUNDING PROGRAM TO MARKET SC AS ‘GAY STATE’
This may come as a surprise to many South Carolinians, but your tax dollars are being used to target gay travelers from across the pond.
The Palmetto Scoop has learned that the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism — a state agency overseen by the Gov. Mark Sanford’s office — is spending an undisclosed amount of its nearly $14 million advertising budget to take part in the “So Gay” campaign, an effort launched in London, England, by the gay marketing agency “Out Now” to lure homosexual tourists to South Carolina and five U.S. cities.

Columbia has been struggling hard to come up with a marketing slogan to attract tourists. Could "So Gay" be it?

And yes, my headline came from a "Seinfeld" episode. If Adam can make allusions to "Office Space," I can do the same with "Seinfeld."

Why not? There are plenty of 'gayborhoods' in Columbia and elsewhere, and besides, if its PRT, they don't want 'em to stay, they just want them to visit and spend their money here.

Since my other half and I were "welcomed" to South Carolina in 2006 with the hateful, bigoted Marriage "Protection" Amendment that was endorsed by both the state as well as The State - in fact, I wrote a letter to the editor concerning Warren Bolton's editorial in favor of passage where he admitted that it was likely grossly unfair but advocated passage "so the whole issue would just go away" - I say "Good Luck" to trying to lure gay/lesbian tourists to PraiseJeebus!Land where they have been explcitly told by the populace that they're simply Not Wanted.

I don't know what all the to-do is about. Surely nobody in Britain was dumb enough to believe gays really would be welcome here.

Half of SC's U.S. Senators are gay, so what's the big deal?

Wait a minute. London has a very high population of Muslims. Heaven forbid that any of them are gay and wanting to come to SC beaches. Can you imagine all those heads at the beach and us wondering what they have under those long white dresses? Could you tell male from female when they are all covered up? What if you approached one dressed up in all that white stuff and it turned out to be someone of the opposite sex? They are only looking for virgins after all and they may as well stay in London because from all I read about the younger sex they are into sex at about the 6 grade. No virgins here.

I always thought is was a well-known fact that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) is a gay man. Seems kinda ironic that some in SC got their panties in a wad over the ad.
